Anna Paquin

Anna Paquin is a Canadian as well as a New Zealand actress. She was born in Winnipeg and was raised in Wellington Paquin began her acting debut portraying Flora McGrath in the romantic drama film The Piano for which she received an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress at age 11 making her the second-youngest winner in Oscar history. Anna Paquin's full name is Anna Helene Paquin. Born on July 24, 1982, at Winnipeg Manitoba Canada, she was the first Canadian born New Zealand actress. As an infant, she won the Academy Award for best support actress. Her role as the talkative and inquisitive character Holly Hunter played in The Piano (1993) earned her the award. In response to an audition call, she won the role in the role of Flora McGrath, the daughter of a deaf Scottish piano player who moved into New Zealand in mid-19th-century to get married. The actress was just nine years old and did not have any prior experience in acting. Her move from New Zealand to United States as a teen. Paquin made her debut as a child with a role of the Jane Eyre protagonist in Franco Zeffirelli's Jane Eyre followed by a major part on the film Fly Away Home. Paquin played Frankie Addams, a character from Carson McCullers' novel The Member of the Wedding in 1997. In Steven Spielberg's Amistad in 1997 in which she played the queen of Spain in a less prominent character. She played teenagers on Hurlyburly (1998), She's All That (2000) as well as A Walk on the Moon (2000). She portrayed her character groupie Polexia Aphrodisa in Almost Famous (2000).
