April Ross

April Ross, a beach volleyball star in the US is part of a select set of females who've won medals in more than one Olympics. Alix Klineman is the newest Olympian and will join the team in Tokyo. Ross began her college career with the USC Trojans following her high school days. It was a long time before Ross hit the beach and became a pro. Ross had an impressive run through the college. She was an All-American and Pac-10 Freshman of the Year in the year 2000, a young freshman. In 2000, her Trojans were also able to make it to the Final Four. She suffered a devastating personal loss in her sophomore season and yet she went on to repeat her place as an All-American. In her last two years in the Trojans program, she guided them to a national title each year. Ross was an excellent volleyball player, winning the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the most outstanding female volleyball player at the college level. Ross was an USC international relations student was a renowned volleyball player. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, never had the chance to watch her daughter become an international beach volleyball star. Ross suffered the loss of her mother to breast cancer in 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. As a result, Ross continues to be close to her deceased parent. Margie has inspired her in her life and on the beach.
