April Ross

April Ross, a beach volleyball star in the US is part of a select set of females who've won medals in more than one Olympics. Alix Klineman is the newest Olympian and will join the team in Tokyo. Ross aims to earn her Olympic the first medal of gold, however, she also hopes to earn even more. It could be the last opportunity she gets to do so at the age of 39. But she's confident top awards can be achieved. Ross stated to NBC Boston that if they play their best, and even play well her team will be able to win the gold medal. In addition, I'll try the chance to have chances. Ross was born on the 22nd of October, 1982. She was raised in Costa Mesa California where she lived with her parents as well as a her sister. She was able to participate in many activities at Newport Harbor High School. She played basketball and ran track in addition to her indoor volleyball achievements as a prep athlete. She stood out however in this sport. In her college profile, she was an outside-hitting hitter middle blocker, as well as a setter in her volleyball playing career during high school. Gatorade Circle Of Champions named her the National Player of 1999. Her volleyball skills also earned her an Orange County Athlete of the Year award in the year 2000. Ross has been playing alongside Klineman since the year 2017, but Ross's beach game had been established long before this. She has won major competitions with different players. A couple of those is an iconic player in the world of volleyball. From 2007-2013 she played alongside Jennifer Kessy who more recently was Klineman's coach. Ross, Kessy's fellow teammate who was the winner of the world championship alongside Kessy in 2009, also was significant on the an international level. At the 2012 Olympic Games, they were awarded the gold medal. They were beaten out for the gold medal by the legendary group comprised of Misty May-Treanor as well as Kerri Walsh (Jennings). Ross was Walsh Jennings new partner after May-Treanor's departure. They were able to win the bronze medal in beach volleyball in the Rio Olympics in 2016. Ross began her college career with the USC Trojans following her high school days. It was a long time before Ross hit the beach and became a pro. Ross had an impressive run through the college. She was an All-American and Pac-10 Freshman of the Year in the year 2000, a young freshman. In 2000, her Trojans were also able to make it to the Final Four. She suffered a devastating personal loss in her sophomore season and yet she went on to repeat her place as an All-American. In her last two years in the Trojans program, she guided them to a national title each year. Ross was an excellent volleyball player, winning the Honda Sports Award in 2003-04 as the most outstanding female volleyball player at the college level. Ross was an USC international relations student was a renowned volleyball player. Margie Ross, Ross' mother, never had the chance to watch her daughter become an international beach volleyball star. Ross suffered the loss of her mother to breast cancer in 2001. Ross was then a sophomore. As a result, Ross continues to be close to her deceased parent. Margie has inspired her in her life and on the beach.
